Merry Christmas in Finnish: Finland's Christmas Traditions:

I just thought you might be interested to know more about Christmas Traditions, So here is a brief passage on how Christmas is celebrated in Finland.
Finnish people believe that Santa Claus lives in the North of Finland usually called "Korvatunturi" or known as Lapland, which is north of the Arctic Circle. Actually Christmas in Finland is very famous even there is a tourist theme park called "Christmas Land" in the north.

In Finland, Santa is also known as Joulupukki! The actual meaning of this is 'Christmas Goat', back in history Finland there was a Yule Goat who was scary and asked gifts from people and didnt give any out! Over the time Goat has become the gift giver and the Santa has taken over the responsibility of giving gifts.

For the visitors, Christmas in Finland is a memorable event. The first Sunday of December starts the Finnish Christmas season. Most of the kids use advent calenders to count down the Christmas eve.

During Christmas, most of the people stay at home. Even the animals are given their own Christmas in Finland. Nuts, pieces, sheaf of wheat are hung on trees in bags from the branches for the birds. Every one cleans their homes for the three day event. Christmas is celebrated in three holy days- Christmas eve, Christmas eve and Boxing day.
